One year ago, Frequency Within was at it's birth; we had everything in mind for what we wanted it to be and what we wanted to do.
We spent the last few months of 2015 writing in a small in-home studio, putting together the bones of our first album.
At the end of January 2016, we made our first appearance as FREQUENCY WITHIN at a house show in West Covina, CA. It was also the debut of our friend band, The Black Jacobins, showing off their new members who started the night with rock n'roll blues. The evening grew into a multi-colored garage bleeding people and intense rock into the next room.
Half of the year followed with sporadic live performances throughout Orange County and consistent rehearsals. We perfected our set, gathering feedback at each show and continued to write more songs until we were prepared to put together an album.
June was a busy month preparing our art. We began by selecting the songs we wanted to record and creating our own scratch tracks at our home studio in Orange, CA. We took the 7 songs to Culver City Music Factory for professional tracking. Then, to Overboard Recording for mixing/mastering. The album artwork was created by Abskure Artistry. Everything was prepared for CD replication & digital distribution by SoCal Indie Musicians.
July 30th, 2016 marked the release date for our debut album "Blissfulmess" and the start of our first tour. It was, by far, the best experience any of us has had with a band. The early and later dates in California were a ton of fun. The Arizona shows were exciting and we were lucky to be hosted by our friends, Phantom Party, for our stay. Nevada was wild and we were blessed with an interview from AudioVein and airplay on Neon Reverb Radio! After miles of driving through deserts boasting 100+ degree weather and navigating around a fire, we were happy to be back home in our beds.
There's now only one month left of 2016. We have continued to write more songs and are planning more music videos and another tour will commence in January 2017. Thanks so much for reading this and giving us an exciting first year!
See you soon, Freqs!
